Itinerary
Day 1 Reception in Barnaul at 7 a.m. TRF to the village Tungur, 750 km, 12-13 h. 2-3 stops on the way. Arrival to Vysotnik in the evening. TRPL accommodation in tents at a wild stand with awning, fire place and firewood. Dinner in the café.
Day 2 Adjusting foot trek to mount Verbluzhonok – 2-3 h. Preparation to 3days foot trek to mount Baida: getting common equipment and food stuff. Rest time: if desired horse walks and rent of bicycles.
Day 3 Start of the trek. B/c Vysotnik (850 m) – mount Baida (2070 m) – headstream of the brook Tungur. After breakfast – loading the horses. We go through the village Tungur, climb by a beautiful path to mount Baida. Stop at the rock “observation post” where the panorama of the katun and Kucherla valleys, villages of Tungur and Kucherla, snowy peaks and passes of wonderful Belukha (4506 m). Pass by the pen with ail (national Altaian dwelling). Go through burned forest (fire in 1975) and go down to the next ail on the bank of the river Tungur, where we make a camp. Dinner on fire. 6 km, altitude drop is 1200 m. 4-5 h.
Day 4 R.Tungur – headstream of Dety-Kochek (2400 m) – the plateau Turgundinskoye. Go from ail up to the pass where the Red Mountains are seen. Then go along the river Dety-Kochek up to the plateau Turgundinskoye. The cedar forest finishes and we come to the river Turgunda. Taking fire wood on the way. We camp nearby high mountain Lower Turgundinskoye lake. 4-5 km. After lunch – radial trek to mount Kyzyl, such walk can be called “Walk under the clouds”. Overnight at Lower Turgundinskoye lake.
Day 5 Return to the base camp Vysotnik by the same way. Free time at Vysotnik, overnight in tents. 6 km. 4-5 h.
Day 6 Motor and foot trek to the petrogliphs in the Kucherla river valley. 12 km by car to the tract Elan, 7-8 km on foot one way. Return to the camp.
Day 7 Transfer to the starting point of rafting to the village Krasnoyarka, 100 km. Preparing the rafts, personal equipment, listening to instructions. Rafting by the river Koksa: two fast-stream parts, then easy rapids – doublesteped and gromotukhinsky. Overnight stop nearby the village Koksa. 25 km, 4-5 h.
Day 8 Rafting by the Katun river from village Ust-Koksa to village Multa. The itinerary is not tough but it requires attention. Overnight stop near the village Multa. 30 km, 4-5 h. Excursion to the museums in Upper Uimon – museum of Roerikh and Old Believers.
Day 9 Multa village – Tungur village. Katun is very fast here and there are some waved spots of 50-300 meters. Overnight stop at base camp Vysotnik in tents. 30 km, 5-6 h.
Day 10 Departure to Barnaul, 750 km, 12-13 h. Final point – railway station.

Notes and recommendations:
1. The itinerary doesn’t require special skills. Day temperature is from +10 to +30, at night 0+10. Children 10-18 years are admitted to the tour only with parents. The order of excursions and active treks may be changed. The participants are provided by the general set of common equipment.
2. MEALS. Participants are provided with 3 meals a day per program. At the base camps meals are getting at a cafe. On the trek food is cooked on the open fire by the guide or a cook.
3. PROVIDED EQUIPMENT: tents, awning, first-aid kit, cooking pots, equipment for rafting (incl. life-vests, helmets, water-proof bags), fire outfit.
4. ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU:
foam sleeping mat, 3 seasons sleeping bag; clothes and shoes for trekking, rucksack for 60 liters, sun-glasses, UVF-cream, individual tin-ware

For entry in the Ust-Koksinsky district, foreign citizens must provide some relevant documents to cross the border zone, 60 days prior the proposed date of entry!
