CXA2. Skitour and Mt. Elbrus Climb

The programme offers different itineraries and long descents. Snowy slopes of Elbrus have everything for exciting ski-descents. Average grade of steepness is about 15-20 degrees and the glaciers are covered with snow. The final part of this trip is ascent of Mt.Elbrus and descent from the top by ski. In this case the length of descend is about 25 km and altitude change is 2500m.
Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival in Min.Vody. Meeting with the guide in the hall of the airport. Group transfer by bus to Terskol (about 190 km). Accommodation in the hotel in Terskol. (D/DB)
Day 2. Acclimatization and downhill skiing on Cheget (3050 m). Return to hotel. Overnight in hotel. (BLD)
Day 3. Transfer to the cable-car station Azau. Lift to the Carabashi station. Skitour to the Azau glacier pass (5-6 h). Return to the hotel. (BLD)
Day 4. Transfer to the cable-car station Azau. Lift to the Carabashi station. Skitour to the PAstukhov rocks. Decsend by ski to Azau. Return back to hotel. (BLD)
Day 5. Transfer to the cable-car station Azau. Lift to the Carabashi station. Check into the barrels huts. Overnight in the hut. (BLD)
Day 6. Summit day. Leave the base camp about 03:00 a.m. Climb of Elbrus western/eastern summit (10-12 h). Descend to the barrel huts. Overnight in the hut. (BLD)
Day 7. Return to the Baksan valley. Rest. Overnight in hotel. (BLD)
Day 8. Back up day. (BLD)
Day 9. Transfer to Min. Vody (approx. at 07;30 a.m.). Departure. (B)
