KAR1. Pacific Ring

Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival in Elizovo airport. Transfer to Petropavlovsk (20km). Accommodation in hotel Geyzer 3*. Acclimatization. At 20:00-dinner with your guide and discussing the trip. (D)

Day 2. Transfer to the Gorely volcano (1829 m). Ascending Gorely volcano, walking along the old lava flows, slag fields, seeing 3 craters with crater lakes. (6-8 hours). Camp laying out. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 3. Trekking by slag fields to the lava flows at the foot of the Gorely volcano (8 km) with lava caves and grottos seeing. Return to the camp in the evening. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 4. Trekking to the foot of the Mutnovsky volcano (13 km). Excursion trip to the water-fall (90 m) at the Opasny (Dangerous) Canyon. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 5. Ascening Mutnovsky volcano (2323m) with trekking into the crater (8 hours). Watching active fumaroles, mud siphons, mud craters, the crater lake. The crater of Mutnovsky volcano is one of the most wonderful volcanic phenomena of Kamchatka. Steep walls and shining glaciers surround wide and deep crater. If trekking is difficult it’s possible to return to the camp. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 6. Trekking to the Dachnye hot springs (15 km). Itinerary goes through the Pioneer Pass (1100 m, 1-hour ascent) with seeing of the Chertov Palets (Devil's Finger) obsidian (volcanic glass) rock. You have a chance to collect interesting samples of obsidian. Descent by snow to the Dachnye hot springs located just near the Mutnovskaya geothermal electric power station. You can see pulsating sources, steam jets, mud pots and a lot of small outlets of thermal water. (BLD)

Day 7. Trekking to the Voynovskiye hot springs (12 km). Itinerary goes by foots of old Zhirovskoy volcano to the Mutnaya (Turbid) River. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 8. Trekking to the Pacific shore, Zhirovaya bay (12 km). Zhirovaya bay is located amidst sheer rocks with several water-falls. The bay has 3-km sandy beach. Excursion to the place of fishing at the mouth of the Zhirovaya River. In the evening dinner with ukha (Russian traditional fresh fish-soup). Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 9. Rest day. Radial trekking to water-fall (5 km). Fishing and bathing at the bay is possible. (BLD)

Day 10. Trekking to the Zhirovskiye hot springs (15 km) located at the picturesque place at the Zhirovaya River. Overnight at tents. (BLD)

Day 11. Rest. Hot springs bathing. Radial trips. (BLD)

Day 12. Trekking trough the Tenuyev Pass (520 m) to the hot springs at the Vilyucha River valley (22 km) with picturesque Zhirovaya River valley, Zhirovaya bay and Vilyuchinsky volcano view from the pass. Rest at the Vilyuchinskiye hot springs located at the right bank of the Vilyucha River. Good swimming-bath and medicated baths are arranged there by local mountain skiing club. Overnight at tents. Day 13. Hot springs bathing. Excursion to the neglected gold-mining tunnel. Trekking to the Vilyuchinsky Pass (6 km) with 40 m water-fall at the Spokoyny (Quiet) stream watching. Transfer to Petropavlovsk by all terrain vehicle. Accommodation at the hotel. Rest. (BLD)

Day 14. Visiting fish market. Shopping. Souvenirs. Transfer to the airport. (B)

*Every participant of the tour is requested to have:

1) a rucksack (60 – 100 liter)

2) a sleeping bag and a tourist mat,

3) trekking boots or rubber boots,

4) extra shoes to change,

5) things for personal hygiene, bathing accessories,

6) warm clothes (including waterproof and windblock jacket),

7) sunglasses,

8) a hat,

9) a torch,

10) gloves,

11) trekking poles

12) the first-aid kit

13) anti-mosquito spray.

All the costs are valid at the date of publication and are subject to reconfirmation at the time of booking.
Tour includes trekking  6 km/day with 10-15 kg rucksack, so tourists should have some physical training.
There are no fixed dates for the tour, it's arranged on request.
