PDM1. Land of Tigers and Lotuses
This saturated trip acquaints you in a short time with main features of marvelous nature of Southern Primorye.
After necessary acclimatization in Vladivostok (in connection with a change of time zones) and short acquaintance with the city you go for a 2-days trip to the Far Eastern Marine Reserve. The reserve is famous with colonies of marine birds, seal rookeries, very reach underwater life. Warm and transparent waters of the Japan Sea are ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
Then you move to the Lazovsky Reserve, located in taiga in south-eastern spurs of the Sikhote-Alin mountain range. This real northern rainforest with giant trees (Korean pine, black fir), winded with dendriform lianas, is a home for Amur tiger, brown and Himalayan bear, Sitka deer.
In the final part of the trip you see a family of Amur tigers living in an outdoor research nursery and visit a country house in Kronshtadtka village. These sites are especially attractive in time of lotus glowering.

Itinerary:
Day 1. Arrival in Vladivostok. Transfer to the Azimut hotel ***. Accommodation. Relaxation. 18:00 – 22:00 - city tour with panorama of evening Vladivostok. Dinner in a restaurant with tasting sea delicacies. (D)
Day 2. Transfer to a mooring. Sea voyage (1,5 hours) by ferry to the Popov Island – the Northern Area of the Marine Reserve. Visit to the Museum of Marine Nature and its Protection. Excursion to a local Botanic Garden. Overnight in the Centre of environmental education in the Reserve on Popov Island. (BLD)
Day 3. Walking excursion along the island. Sea voyage (1,5 hours) back to Vladivostok. Transfer to a hotel. Accommodation. (BL)
Day 4. Transfer (270 km, 5 hours) to the settlement Lazo. Accommodation in the Lazovsky Reserve (for 2-10 pax - at the Reserve administration inn, for 10-20 pax - at the hotel standard hostel of local Culinary School). Excursion to the Nature Museum of the Lazovsky Reserve. (BLD)
Day 5. Transfer to a foot of the Lysaya mountain. Hiking (6 km) along an ecological path to waterfalls. Lunch – picnic. Transfer (80 km) to the Petrov Bay. Accommodation in the summer lodges at a cordon of the Reserve. Banya (to be paid on spot: 800 RUR per 4 persons). (BLD)
Day 6. Sea excursion to the Petrov Island with crossing a unique ancient yew-wood (only until the 15th of September). Transfer (450 km, 8 hours) through Sikhote-Alin mountains to Spassk-Dalny city. Accommodation in the city inn. (BLD)
Day 7. Transfer to Kronstadtka village. Excursion to a lotus lake (lotus blossom in the period from 20/07 to 10/08). Transfer to Gaivoron village. Excursion to the tiger nursery. Drive (270 km, 4 hours) to Vladivostok. Accommodation the Azimut hotel ***. (BLD)
