Itinerary:
Day 1. Arrival in Petrozavodsk in the morning by overnight train from Moscow: #18 (09:40) or from St.Petersburg: #350 (08:30), #658 (06:50). Meeting with local guide at the rail platform. For clients arriving by train #658 Petrozavodsk city sightseeing tour is recommended optionaly. Transfer to Kedrozero settlement (90 km) – place of snow-mobile safari start. Breakfast. Individual equipment selection. Instructions for snow-mobile driving and safety precautions. Training for driving. 12:00 start of snow-mobile safari (80 km, 4,5 hours). Stop at Pegrema village The next stop is arranged at Yuzhny Dvor (Southern Court-yard) village. The safari goes on through Lipovitsy and Sennaya Guba villages. Snack will be arranged en route (hot tea in thermos, sandwiches, fruits, sweets). Kizhi architectural and ettnographic open-air museum tour. Accommodation at the Ostrov (the Island) guest centre. Dinner. Banya (Russian traditional bath-house). (BLD)
Day 2. Breakfast. Snow-mobile safari Sennaya Guba – Yuzhny Dvor – Pegrema – Kedrozero with snack en route (hot tea in thermos, sandwiches, fruits, sweets). Transfer to Petrozavodsk. Dinner at cafe in Petrozavodsk. Departure by overnight train for Moscow: #17 (19:00), #381 (20:27) or for St.Petersburg: #657 (22:50). (BLD)

Tour Highlights:

Pegrema – a deserted Karelian village (the last villager left it 30 years ago) at the Onego Lake shore. Tourists can see there great samples of Russian Northern wooden architecture (several big peasant houses and St. Varlaam of Khutyn Chapel built in 1770s) and unique pagan cult site (more than 100 stone objects).

Yuzhny Dvor - a Karelian village founded in the 15th century. Now tourists can see there St.Nicholas Church with unusual gigantic belfry built in the 17-18th centuries.

Kizhi architectural and ettnographic open-air museum - you can find there local and brought-in origin samples of Russian Northern wooden architecture including majestic 22-domed Transfiguration Church (1714).
Accommodation:
Tourists are accommodated at the Ostrov guest centre. The centre is located at very picturesque place just at the Bolshoy Klimetsky Island of the Kizhi Archipelago (10 km from the Kizhi Island where “Kizhi” museum is located).
